  • Rouhani: We never let economic shocks affect Iran's development plans

Tehran (IP) - Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday the government has tried to focus on programs in the two areas of the macroeconomy and household economy.

Iran PressIran news: The President said that we should not allow economic shocks such as sanctions or corona bottlenecks to slow down the country's development and hit the household economy and livelihood and welfare of the people saying the government has done its best to formulate and implement detailed policies and programs in the two areas of the macroeconomy and household economy.

Rouhani stressed at a meeting of the government's economic coordination headquarters on Tuesday: "Although the economic shocks caused by sanctions and the spread of the coronavirus in some areas have damaged the country's economy, but the government has made every effort to maintain the atmosphere of development and prosperity in production and business as much as possible, while at the same time providing the goods needed by the people.

The President mentioned the allocation of special facilities and loans at the beginning of this year for households and business owners affected by restrictions made by the COVID-19 outbreak, including government measures to compensate for the damage and loss of life, and ordered the Ministries of Welfare, Economy and Central Bank and the Planning and Budget Organization to pursue and implement new plans for the purchase of goods for salaried employees, retirees and those with fixed incomes.

The government has not allowed and will not allow the issue of basic commodities to cause concern to the people, and in this regard, the agencies related to regular planning will act in a coordinated manner.
