Tehran (IP)- Head of the Expediency Discernment Council Ayatollah Sadegh Amoli Larijani called the normalization of the UAE's relations with Israel a failure and a great betrayal of the Palestinian cause.

Iran Press/Iran news: Following the efforts of US President Donald Trump to pave the way for normalization of relations between the UAE and the Zionist regime, Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv recently agreed on the full normalization of diplomatic relations.

Expediency Discernment Council Chairman Ayatollah Amoli Larijani said on Wednesday: "Muslim nations will surely disturb the dream of normalizing the relations of Muslim states with the usurping Zionist regime."

Emphasizing that the recent agreement is not only a betrayal of the oppressed people of Palestine but also a betrayal of the Arab states and Muslim nations, Amoli Larijani said: "The fake Zionist regime will not last and the consequences of the recent agreement will definitely have the opposite effects."

Stating that the path of normalization of relations with a usurper and fake regime is a blocked and impassable path, he added: "The Islamic Republic will certainly take appropriate measures to counter the recent agreement between the UAE and the Zionist regime."
