Iran’s ambassador to Afghanistan has completely rejected the recent claims by US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, saying a stable and secure Afghanistan is certainly in Iran’s interest, and that Tehran fully supports the Afghan peace process.
Iran Press/Middle East: Iran's Ambassador to Afghanistan Mohammad Reza Bahrami issued a statement on Thursday to react to the recent baseless allegations made by the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo against Iran.
Pompeo had claimed that Iran is trying to interrupt the peace process in Afghanistan, Iran Press reported.
Despite all realities on the ground about well-documented US support for various terrorist groups, such as ISIS, America's Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo had earlier claimed that Washington is serious about pursuing peace in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, Afghan officials have emphasised that the Islamic Republic of Iran plays a key role in the establishment of peace in their country.
