Iraqi forces deployed near US embassy in Baghdad
Baghdad (IP) - Following the US air raid to the positions of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), a large number of Iraqi security forces were deployed near the US embassy in Baghdad.
Iran Press/ Middle East: An Iraqi intelligence source said that the security forces have vastly been deployed in nearby the US Embassy in Baghdad as well as some provinces the US fighters attacked on.
In a statement one Friday morning, the Iraqi Intelligence Media Staff announced that the US targeted PMU bases, emergency regiments and commandos of the Iraqi Army.
The US fighters attack PMU (Hashed al-Shaabi) bases two days after the US-led coalition's al-Taji base, 30 kilometers north of Baghdad, was targeted by Katyusha rockets on Wednesday night, during which four US and British troops were killed and 26 more wounded.
The US fighters hit the positions of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) in Salah al-Din, Babil, Basra, Karbala and Wasit provinces, leaving 2 Iraqis killed and 7 more injured.
