The wide protest came after an agreement between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the leader of the Blue and White party Benny Gantz to establish an emergency coalition government following three failed elections in Israel over the past year.

Iran Press/ Middle East: Thousands of protesters gathered to oppose Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's policies amid the coronavirus pandemic, which they perceive as a consolidation of his power to avoid a corruption trial, reported by Sputnik.

They also slam Netanyahu's handling of the coronavirus crisis in the Occupied Territories, which left 14,803 people infected and killed some 192, according to the latest WHO figures. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the protesters are expected to observe the social distancing rule and stand one meter apart from each other.

Earlier, the trial of Benjamin Netanyahu on corruption charges had been postponed to May 24 amid fears of the novel coronavirus.

Netanyahu's trial was set to begin on March 17.

Netanyahu is facing corruption charges in three cases that include bribery, breach of trust, and fraud.
